The Research  

The aim of research was to prove the role of the Mercury who is the signifactor of the Rasadhatu  in RHUDSHUL i.e. Myocardial Infarction[ in simple wards the Heart attack  

In the texts of Astrology it has been said that the Sun is the signifactor of the Heart and the Heart diseases are due to the affection of the Sun.It is a blanket statement.

When the Sun is affected in the Birth Chart, it may cause irregular heart beats i.e. arrythmia, even some times complete heart block but definitely not Heart attack.  

In the text of Ayurveda written by the Sushruta[ the great ancient stalwart of Ayurveda], the pathogenesis of Rhudshula i.e. Heart attack is described as..  

The functioning of Vatadosha gets obstructed due to Pittadosha and kafa dosha. Due to the obstruction the stability of Vatadosha is disturbed. In the next step, a disturbed Vatadosha get mixed with the Rasadhatu. Hence causes severe pain in Heart,which is termed as Rhudshula  i.e. Heart attack.  

Hence the aim of the study is to prove the pathogenesis of the RHUDSHUL i.e. Heart attack with the help of Birth chart and the major role played by Mercury ( who is the signifactor of the Rasadhatu) in the event of Heart attack.

Methodology:
1. Selection of the patients Birth Chart who were suffered from Heart attack. The  patients were admitted in ICU and heart attack was proved with the help of ECG.
The position and status of the Mercury as well as the Sun in the Birth Charts of above selected patients were taken into consideration to prove the hypothesis.
2. The acting planets during the onset of Heart attack were studied. 

The study of acting planets was based upon the Mahadasha, Antardasha and Vidasha of each patient.

Result
1. In 25% of the selected patients Birth Charts the Sun was in a good state. The Sun was not affected nor in a position to give 
malefic results.
But the Mercury was affected in every selected patients Birth Chart and was in a position to give malefic effects.
2. In every Birth Chart the Mercury was an acting planet according to the Mahadasha, Antardasha, and Vidasha during the 
onset of Heart attack.

But only in 20% of the selected Birth Charts the Sun was one of the acting planets during the onset of Heart attack.

Conclusion
The above study showed the Mercury who is the signifactor of the Rasadhatu plays an important role in the case of Heart attack.
Hence the pathogenesis of Heart attack stated by the Ayurveda is proved with the help of Birth Charts.
